Dave has lived in Naperville for over 50 years and has always been heavily involved in the community. He began work as a financial advisor in 1993, earning his CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Certification in 1998. He established Weeks Financial Group in 2000. In 2004, he was inducted into Equitable’ s prestigious Hall of Fame. Dave's previous career was in ministry, where in addition to pastoral duties, he produced and presented financial management materials to congregations across the country.
Dave wanted to eventually retire but created such close relationships with his clients over the years that he wasn’t willing to just sell his book of business to someone he wasn’t confident would maintain the level of service they’ve come to expect. So when his daughter Bethany started taking an interest in his practice, it seemed like kismet. Dave has been transitioning into retirement since 2020 – he had spent so many years pouring his time and energy into his clients that he didn’t know how to stop! Finally, Bethany threatened to change the locks in the office if he didn’t stop coming in every day; he’s now enjoying extensive travel with his wife and community service, while still acting in a consulting role for Weeks Financial and popping in to see “his” clients here and there. And of course, playing Santa at the annual Christmas party!
Dave’s most recent philanthropic endeavor was championing a $30 million expansion of the Martin Avenue Apartments, affordable housing for low-income seniors. When he became President of Naperville Elderly Homes Board of Directors, he jumped on the possibility of creating additional housing where seniors can live with dignity and stay in Naperville, even if they can’t afford “Naperville housing prices.” This took over 5 years, and the new wing is beautiful and called the Dave Weeks Wing.
Dave was also a District 203 School Board Member for 4 years, former Board Member for Naperville Area Young Life, and Past President of the Naperville Kiwanis (noon). His wife, also a Naperville native, was an elementary school teacher for over 20 years. All 5 of their collective children matriculated through the Naperville school districts over the years.
Dave has been enjoying visiting ballparks around the country recently, and he and his wife spend multiple months in Mexico each year.
